Derek Bodkin’s Hovering Breadcat Quartet
December 13 @ 8:30 pm
Derek Bodkin’s Hovering Breadcat Quartet returns to perform at Cooper’s Pub & Restaurant on Friday, December 13. The “HBC” have made an impact on the Monterey Music scene, performing at First Night Monterey, The West End Celebration, on KRML 102.1FM, KPIG 107.5FM, and much more. In September 2017, Derek Bodkin won first prize at the “Masters of Musical Whistling” international competition in Los Angeles. Bandmate Tommy Knowles is a man of many talents and is a vault of wonderful historic Sea Shanties – which is fitting as he is also a Jellyfish Expert biologist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Quartet features Derek, Tommy plus Brian Vandemark and Harry Thomas – bringing a special soulful Americana Groove magic to the stage. With a mixture of Folk, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Sea Shanties and more – they are truly an Americana sound and are stoked to share their mixture of old favorites and striking original music with you!
