Dan Frechette performs at Cooper’s Pub on Saturday, December 15. Frechette has been one of Canada’s top songwriters for some time.
Alt-Folk Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Dan Frechette has performed several major folk festivals and has traveled many miles in a Toyota Corolla sharing his timeless songs and soulfully incandescent personality.
His songs have been recorded and performed by The Duhks (Winnipeg), Dervish (Ireland), The Ploughboys (Australia), Emma Cloney (Winnipeg), Mary Z Cox (Florida), Deep Hole Road (New Hampshire), Jessee Havey (Winnipeg), and The Stacks (New York City). His knowledge of all music great and vintage, and his abilities as an impressionist, prolific songwriter and entertainer have impressed and endeared him to many a musician and audience.
One of folk music’s most well respected magazines; Singout Magazine said “one of the most talented songwriters we’ve heard in a long time.” CBC radio’s Ismaila Alfa has declared, “there’s no Dan Frechette song I don’t like” and CBC Radio has called Dan “one of Manitoba’s most loved entertainers.”
